The Public Policy and Research Program encompasses public policy forums, candidate and issue debates, the signature annual policy conference, and now our PBI/Cal State LA Poll.  Through this program, the Institute reaches policy makers, opinion leaders, community activists, and young people, both in high school, college, and in the work world.  We are highly committed to fostering thorough and accessible public dialogue on social and economic issues such as affordable housing, economic development, immigration, inequality, natural resources, prison realignment, and racial and ethnic diversity.

The annual policy conference is the cornerstone of the Public Policy and Research Program which engages Californians in spirited discussion, debate, and dialogue on the most relevant public policy issues impacting our state. It provides an opportune setting for experts and audience members alike to explore the relationship between Californians’ quality of life and governance.
